About Parents	English (USA)
The parents mailing list has the purpose to provide a support group for Christians with a family member who is Muslim. It is mainly aimed at parents of converts to Islam i.e. your son or daughter converted to Islam, or in-laws of Muslims, i.e. your son or daughter married a Muslim even though your blood relative might not have converted him/herself. We do not want to restrict it to parents, it could also be your brother or niece, or any other family member, but it is anticipated that the membership will mostly be parents and therefore we named the list "parents" to reflect this. Appropriate are all topics relating to the issue on how to deal with the tensions that arise from this conversion, how to learn about this other religion and understand it, and how to give good Biblical answers to the challenges that are put before you as well. But most of all, it should provide the fellowship of people who are in this situation since few in your home churches might understand your special problem very well and are often not prepared to support you as you need it. Parents is understood to provide a place to share sorrows and joys with each other so that the members can effectively pray for each other in whatever are the current burdens on your heart. As this list is still small (about eight members) there might be times of silence. Let this not hinder you to introduce yourself and tell others why you joined this list and what is on your heart at this time. If you step out you will receive responses. But if everyone waits for some other to make the next contribution then the silence can become extended. To post to the mailing list, please send your message To: parents@thompsonic.com and to contact the moderator privately you may use the address parents-owner@thompsonic.com Your message to the list will automatically be anonymized by the server, i.e. the headers are stripped off, and then forwarded to all list members. It helps to establish a relationship between the members if you do identify yourself in each message either with your real name or a consistent pseudonym in case you think that is necessary (for some who live in sensitive areas). Using Parents
To post a message to all the list members, send email to parents@optimus.thompsonic.com. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to Parents
Subscribe to Parents by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription. You can always request a mail-back of your password when you edit your personal options. Once a month, your password will be emailed to you as a reminder.
